What's Required
Each employee shall adhere to District safety rules and regulations
and shall report unsafe conditions or practices to the appropriate
supervisor. (Policy: DH Local)
What We Do
Work Day - All district staff are required to work 8.5 hour days with a 30 minute lunch.
- District staff members do not receive a conference period (unless they are in a teacher role).
- The following work times are required based on the campus you serve.
Elementary School: 7:30 am-4pm Middle School: 8 am-4:30 pm High School: 6:30 am-3 pm
Administration: 8 am-4:30 pm
Paraprofessional Notes:
- Paraprofessional staff must sign-in and out on Time Clock Plus.
- Repeated failure to punch in/out on Time Clock Plus may result in disciplinary action
- In the event of a Missed Time Clock Plus Entry/Exit. Please complete, print, sign, and email the Time Clock Adjust Form to reginar@springisd.org.
- Note: The use of this form should be a rare occurrence as Time Clock Plus punches are a professional responsibility.
- If a staff member has accrued 5 missed punches in a school year, a meeting will be held with the direct supervisor to address the failure to comply with job expectations. A staffing form will be completed documenting the discussion.
- If a staff member has accrued 10 missed punches in a school year, a formal Memorandum of Concern will be completed and place in the HR file. meeting will be held with the direct supervisor to address the failure to comply with job expectations.
- Weekly monitoring of clocking in and out will be completed by the SPED Compliance Coordinator and the administrative assistant providing oversight of Time Clock Plus.
- Para-professional staff are not authorized to work beyond the 40 hours in any given week without authorization from their district level supervisor. Paraprofessionals are responsible to monitor their time to ensure an overage and subsequent violation of this procedure does not occur.
TRS Retired Staff Notes: - TRS Retired staff must sign-in and out at the Time Clock Plus each day. You may sign in and out at your personal computer or the campus designated computer (unless instructed to do otherwise by your supervisor)

Signing In/Out - Staff must sign in and out on the Special Education Department Sign-In sheet that is near the front desk of each campus/district building they serve/visit.
- Paraprofessional staff are to sign in/out through the time clock as well as on the Special Education Sign-in/out forms.
- Each campus is to only have 1 clipboard (seperate diagnostician office clipboards or second entrance clipboards are not permitted for safety reasons)
- Signing in and out must occur each and every time a staff members arrives or leaves a campus
- The time must reflect the actual time of arrival/departure
- No staff member is to sign in/out for another staff member (Violation of this policy will be considered forgery of district documentation)
- Outside of assigned breaks, before leaving your assigned location for non-work related reasons the staff member must notify their direct supervisor.
- All job related movement between buildings must be notated on the staff member's Google Calendar and include the purpose, time, and location. (Staff Google Calendars must be shared with their direct supervisor with "view events" access)
Note: Both the Victory Center and Special Education Meyer Portables are considered separate facilities and staff are directed to sign-in/out at those locations when visiting.
