What We Do - Maintain a list of students and their IEP meetings for the month of September and support the Case Managers in preparing for their IEP meetings for the month.
- Review the IEP meetings scheduled for October and plan with IEP Clerk to ensure the IEP meetings are scheduled 3 weeks ahead of their annual ARD date.
- Ensure newly updated transfer procedures for new students entering the campus are being followed. Maintain a list of students who have transferred into the campus and their 30 day ARD/IEP date. Be sure to discuss each transfer in with the appropriate assessment staff (Diag/SLP/LSSP) and campus Coordinator (to ensure services are appropriately matched). *Transfer students who started school August 15 must have their transfer ARD by September 26*
- Contact the SpEd Help desk: spedhelp@springisd.org with all upcoming ARD/IEP meetings to secure support from the IEP Specialists (clerk can complete this).
- Complete the Monthly Special Education Roster/SHARS Documentation google doc - follow instructions outlined in the Monthly Medicaid Roster procedures - Due September 5
- Complete 15 Day count and submit to Campus Coordinator before 3:30pm on September 5
- Have parents complete the Parent Satisfaction Survey at the conclusion of every ARD/IEP meeting.
- Review each Case Manger's Student roster to be sure all students have been assigned a case manager and that all information has been added to the list (compare the students with an updated PEIMS list - provided by Campus Coordinator) scan this form to Coordinators by September 12.
- Meet with SpEd team at least twice to distribute information from DC/TL/CS meeting and to support team in: maintaining student information, developing draft PLAAFP statements, Goals & Objectives, Accommodations, understanding & completing Form 2, understanding Service Logs, etc. Submit Agenda and Sign-In sheet to Coordinator where information is distributed from DC/TL updates/Connections.
- Monitor the use of the Parent Communication Log when initial contact has been made with parents (identify those teachers who have not introduced themselves to the parents and communicate the district expectations.
- Ensure that the ARD Teacher Input Form is being distributed to all staff (GenEd & SpEd) at least 3 weeks prior to the ARD/IEP meetings (completion due date is 2 wks prior to the annual ARD meeting).
- Ensure teachers are completing, and have sent to parents, the draft PLAAFP, Goals & Objectives, and accommodations at least 5 school days prior to the ARD/IEP meeting.
- Be sure all special education teachers are using MSB xLogs to input the services they are providing to students.
- Attend SpEd DC/TL Connection on September 23 from 4-5:30pm. Complete the connection survey by September 27.
- Secondary DC/CS: Ensure IEP Progress reports have been archived by Sept. 25 and printed to go home September 27
- Secondary DC/CS: Ensure progress reports for IEP Goals/Objectives have been issued to all students who receive Special Education (including those receiving Speech services only) and are sent home on Sept. 27(End of the 6 week grading period is Sept. 19 & report cards go home on Sept. 27).
