2017-2018 August DC/TL Timeline

What We Do
  1. Communicate with Registrar to determine if any new students have registered over the summer/August who receive Special Education.
  2. Develop case manager lists matching SpEd teachers with students that they instruct/see during the day prior to August 16.  **Be sure to give yourself a case manage group.
  3. Distribute Case Manager lists to Special Education teachers prior to August 16 to allow time for case managers to distribute IEP paperwork.
  4. Collect Certifications from paraprofessional staff regarding the Region 16: Two Heads Are Better Than One! training - submitted to DC/TL by August 16.
  5. Assist case managers with accessing student information through Eduphoria & eSchool by request access for them (submit request to campus admin).
  6. Check eSped to ensure case managers have updated themselves as the case manager in eSped for the students who they are assigned to case manage for the 2017-2018 school year.
  7. Check in with Diagnostician clerk to get a list of all annual IEP meetings for the year & distribute to case managers
  8. Support the campus in distribution and explanation of STEP binders.
  9. Collect Verification of Receipt of Accommodations and Modifications forms from case managers, ensure that a form has been completed and signed by all teachers and submit the forms to district SpEd records room for filing in state folder **All forms should be collected by August 25**   
  10. Touch base with parents who have shown interest in having close communication with the campus to answer any questions that they may have for the new year.
  11. Ensure that GenEd content or grade level department chairs/team leads are sharing the lesson plans through forethought with AB, SILC, and SpEd Inclusion teachers. 
  12. Verify that case managers have completed the Verification of Services form - submitted to DC/TL by August 25
  13. Begin collecting student/program numbers to complete 15 Day count **Completed by September 6 - Submitted to Coordinator by September 7**
  14. Begin collecting the beginning of the year spreadsheet - Case managers will submit to DC/TL by August 25.
  15. August 31: Complete the Monthly Special Education Roster/SHARS Documentation google doc (link sent to you from shars@springisd.org) print, obtain required signatures, and scan back to shars@springisd.org with the campus name in the subject line Due September 5 - This will replace the Special Education Team Roster.
