What We Do
Item to be completed by October 6, 2017: - Retrieve all student service logs for the month of August & September (Aug 17 - Sept 29), analyze services to ensure minutes have been met, discuss and give the monthly analysis of student service log to your DC with the analysis of services. Highlight any concerns and note if they are recurring concerns that need administrative assistance.
- File Student Service Logs in a folder designated for the student that is kept in a secure/confidential location (DC/TL will direct this).
Items to be completed and submitted to DC/TL by October 12
- Completed Elementary Teacher Schedule showing services being provided to students including student names
- Completed Secondary Teacher Schedule showing teacher schedule and services being each student in the class who are receiving special education in the classroom
- Secondary: Submit a list of students who are not making progress on their academic grades or IEP goals/objectives to DC & discuss the need for an ARD for those who have completed the cycle outlined in the Progress Monitoring procedure.
- All CBI, SL, and PPCD special education staff who are CPR certified submit a copy of their certification to their DC/TL.
October Actions: - Update the Report of Student’s Progress Toward IEP Goals/Objectives for each student who you case manage by the end of the 9 week period - October 20.
- Distribute the Report of Student’s Progress Toward IEP Goals/Objectives with the issuance of report cards to each student you case manage - October 27.
- Elementary Case Managers will conduct the iReady diagnostic during specially designed pull-out time for reading and math - Window will open October 16 and close October 27.
- Check with Special Education and General Education teachers who instruct your students to find out how the program is working for the student & if there are any concerns/questions regarding the level of support that the student is receiving.
- Communicate with parents on strengths that you have seen in their child up to this point. Find genuine behaviors, grades, assistance to report on. Find out if there are any concerns or any assistance that they may be able to offer when working with their child (parents know their children best). Discuss any concerns that you may have.
- Distribute Teacher Input Forms 3 weeks prior to the scheduled ARD meeting for students you case manage.
- Retrieve Teacher Input Forms from all teachers 2 weeks prior to scheduled annual ARD meeting for students who you case manage.
- Prepare for upcoming ARD/IEP meetings by completing the Form 2 - Planning Document with GenEd teacher(s) and work with other SpEd teachers if they teach the student in other content areas.
- Connect with all parents who you have an ARD meeting scheduled with this month to discuss ideas for the new plan that will be finalized during the ARD meeting (let parents know that you will be sending the draft PLAAFP statement and goals/objectives home to be reviewed 5 days prior to the ARD).
- Communicate with parents any activities coming up, provide resources that may help them to support learning at home.
- Update Parent Communication Log and collaborate with teachers any information from parent communication that is pertinent to their class/supports they should be providing.
- Retrieve the Service Logs for the students you case manage and review services being provided. Complete the monthly analysis of student service logs. Discuss discrepancies with teachers providing the service. If service concerns have not been addressed, review concerns with campus SpEd DC/TL.
- Attend monthly Connection Meeting
Items to be completed during, or prior to the end of, October: - Distribute IEP Progress reports by placing a copy with the student's teacher who distributes report cards and have it stapled behind the report card going home.
- Draft PLAAFP, Goals/Objectives, Accommodations and send to parents (as a draft) 5 days prior to scheduled IEP/ARD meeting.

- File Student Service Logs, student work samples, and accommodation data sheets for the month of September & October in a folder designated for the student that is kept in a secure/confidential location (locked file cabinet).
