What We Do - Review the Monthly Special Education Roster/SHARS Documentation google doc, identify if all SpEd staff are accounted for and if the positions that they are in align to the paraprofessional & teacher sheets emailed to you at the beginning of August. If there are discrepancies discuss with Manager at individual meeting to determine next steps
- Meet with entire campus SpEd team at least once to answer questions that they may have or to provide training to the team (maintain sign-in sheets & agenda)
- Check in with DC to ensure teachers have made initial contact with the parent using the Parent Communication Log to document the communication (1. BOY Parent letter distribution date, and 2. initial phone conversation highlights). If there is a teacher who has not made contact you may need to help them to understand the importance of positive communication and following district procedures. DC/TLs will monitor this by Sept 12.
- Ensure student service logs are maintained in manila folders, alphabetically, and in a secure location that remains locked (this system will keep paperwork organized for End Of Year check-in).
- Find out if the campus is ARD Teacher Input Forms is being distributed to all staff (GenEd & SpEd) at least 3 weeks prior to the ARD/IEP meetings (completion due date is 2 wks prior to the annual ARD meeting).
- Attend SpEd DC/TL Connection Meeting September 26 - Online Mtg.
- Ensure progress reports for IEP Goals/Objectives have been issued to all students who receive Special Education.
- Collect 15 Day Count by 2:30 on September 15
