Staff Appraisal Process: Middle of the Year Conference (MOY)

What's Required

All District employees shall be periodically appraised in the performance of their duties. The District’s employee evaluation and appraisal system shall be administered consistent with the general principles set out below. The employee’s performance of assigned duties and other job-related criteria shall provide the basis for the employee’s evaluation and appraisal. Employees shall be informed of the criteria on which they will be evaluated. Evaluation and appraisal ratings shall be based on the evaluation instrument and cumulative performance data gathered by supervisors throughout the year. Each employee shall have at least one evaluative conference annually, except as otherwise provided by policy, to discuss the written evaluation and may have as many conferences about performance of duties as the supervisor deems necessary. Appraisal records and forms, reports, correspondence, and memoranda may be placed in each employee’s personnel records to document performance. All employees shall receive a copy of their annual written evaluation. What We Do




The Middle of the Year conference occurs annually for every staff member as part of a staff member's appraisal process. The Mid-Year conference is designed to be an opportunity to share your personal growth with your supervisor, have collaborative discussion regarding professional goal achievement, and to identify areas in which continued growth can occur.  

  1. The Supervisor will reach out the their staff to setup a time for the individual MOY Conference ( a minimum of 30 minutes face-to-face time per person)
  2. At least 3 days prior to the MOY Conference the staff member will:
  3.  Supervisors will meet with their staff following the Mid Year Conference Participants Roles and Responsibilities Agenda and provide any needed written feedback through Eduphoria messages. 
  4.  Supervisors will explain the remaining steps in the Spring ISD appraisal process and answer any questions the staff member may have.
